Editor,
Newspapers worry that readership is at an all-time low. What to do? Stop pandering to the delicate sensibilities of a public that can't tolerate the facts. Dig for the truth, and tell it. Lose all your readers and all your advertisers in one fell swoop. It's liberating. Then build a real newspaper from scratch. American newspapers' problem is they are afraid of their own shadow. Believe in something besides your own bottom line. Do your job, and you will be rewarded.
