Kissinger, Iraq.

Editor,

Islamist bogeymen and the Middle Eastern domino theory propounded by Henry Kissinger in your pages August 12 are yet more pretexts to justify American aggression in Iraq.

The dream by American corporations of ownership of economies in the Middle East and beyond through hard-fought military conquest is attractive to American investors, but a mercantile relationship that respects the self determination of age-old cultures with their own ideas about ownership and business would be in the end less costly in blood and treasure.

Of course blood means nothing to the American ruling class, which is why we are slipping further in the direction of Stalinism every day.
