Illegal immigration from Mexico has exploded because NAFTA enabled huge, taxpayer-subsidized American agribusiness corporations to flood the Mexican market with cheap agricultural products, putting Mexican farmers out of work and driving them off their land.
Given the correct analysis of the cause, plans for a solution are easy to envisage. One must realize once and for all that "free trade" is good for wealthy investors and bad for working people, including family farmers.
