Editor,
George Bush stated in a speech last Friday at Tobyhanna, PA, that "a bipartisan Senate investigation found no evidence of political pressure to change the intelligence community's judgments related to Iraq's weapons programs."
An uniformed listener would assume that the committee FOUND no such evidence, but the fact is that the QUESTION of political pressure has not even been taken up by the committee, because for 2 years Republican Pat Roberts of Kansas, committee chair, has stone-walled "Phase 2" of the investigation, which is supposed to investigate exactly that question.
Please do your journalistic duty and debunk this lie in a "News Analysis" sidebar.
