Killing innocent life.

Editor,

George Bush vetoed the stem cell research bill because he objects to "killing innocent life," but when it comes to demolishing Iraq and engineering civil war there by pitting rival factions against one another, or Israel's leveling of Lebanon's civilian infrastructure, or the inevitable bombing in store for Syria and Iran -- to wipe the Middle East clean finally for the manifest destiny of the multinational corporations -- "killing innocent life" is a cost of doing business.

Read the excuses Presidents Jackson, Polk, and Taylor invoked to justify eliminating the American Indians and the Mexicans from what is now the United States, and it feels like reading the excuses the United States and Israel are proclaiming now.
