Editor,
The neoliberal Calderon is characterized in your pages as wanting to "increase Mexico's presence in the global economy." This is a strange way of putting Calderon's desire to increase international capital's presence in Mexico's economy, which of course maps directly to disempowering Mexico's workers, dispossessing Mexico's farmers, and disenfranchising Mexico's poor. This is good for multinational banks, international investors, and Mexico's wealthiest 0.1%, and of course it is bad for Mexico.
