Gaza, Lebanon Photographs.

Editor,

The choice of photographs by the NYT to convey events in Gaza and Lebanon misses the point entirely.

A few soldiers running to a berm, a few trucks trundling down a road, are entirely irrelevant to the devastation Israeli air and artillery attacks have wrought in Beirut and villages throughout southern Lebanon, or to the huge number of civilians, mostly children, Israel has killed and is continuing to kill in Lebanon and Gaza, or to the destruction of homes and neighborhoods in Gaza by Israeli helicopter rocket attacks.

It is infuriating to read articles in the NYT that dwell on abstractions, attribute "extremism" and "terrorism" to unarmed victims of Israeli and U.S. extremism and terrorism, and call for anything less than an immediate and unconditional end to this slaughter.
