"Tie Iran to al-Qaeda?"

Editor,

Right-wing Republican nut cases "blasting" U.S. intelligence agencies for not "tying Iran to al-Qaeda" are stupider than I thought. Iran is a Shiite state. Al Qaeda is a Sunni extremist group who consider Shiites apostates and, among other things, want to demolish what they perceive to be apostate governments. Right-wing American radicals "blasting" intelligence agencies (a) can produce only ideological fantasizes and zero hard evidence to substantiate their claims that Iran possesses WMD and "has ties" to al Qaeda, and (b) don't even know the difference between Shiites and Sunnis, Iran and al Qaeda.
