George Bush and Dick Cheney slough off widespread voters' disapproval with the attitude that they were elected to "do what we think is right for the country." This is nonsense. In a democracy voters elect leaders who specifically pledge themselves to do what the electorate thinks is good for the country. The idea that democracy in the United States amounts to electing dictators is wrong and must be crushed.
