Parag Khanna's suggestions on page 8 overlook that the U.S. is dominated by a faction whose only goal is to accumulate for itself, by any means, as much wealth as possible. Ronald Reagan/Milton Friedman capitalists proudly trumpet this ideology in their own hyperpredatory interpretation of Adam Smith. So where is the American nation of shared interests whose diplomacy and mercantile creativity Mr. Khanna is urging be cultivated for the new multipolarity?
