The Consequences of Failure

Editor,

According to George Bush the "consequences of failure" in Iraq are so horrible, with respect to the most paranoid fantasies possible, that there is no alternative to continuing to use Iraq as a conduit from taxpayers' pocketbooks into the pockets of Halliburton, Blackwater, KBR, etc., kazillions of dollars while killing and otherwise ruining the lives of millions of people.

Now George Bush is proposing to transform the U.S. Treasury into a giant hedge fund in order to keep afloat the gambling casino Wall Street has become under George Bush's staggeringly stupid mismanagement. His reason? "The consequences of failure" are too horrible to imagine.

Hello, George Bush. "The consequences of failure" do not justify implementing or continuing boneheaded policies which themselves guarantee the consequences of failure.
