No Worries?

Editor,

Bottled water export is a huge issue in the Great Lakes Basin, where the battle to prohibit Nestle from bottling and exporting Great Lakes water has been lost.

According to the Grand Rapids Press, Nestle shipped 259 million gallons of bottled water out of the Great Lakes Basin last year. The recently passed Great Lakes Compact exempts bottled water from its prohibition against exporting water from the Great Lakes Basin.

A follow-up to your editorial "A Little Less to Worry About" (10/8/2008) would be informative.
