Editor,
Pump and dump, boom and bust speculation on Wall Street promotes one sector of the economy, then another, crashing each one every time when their bubble bursts.
In the mid 1990's telecommunications software and systems engineers were is oh so great demand. Then the sector became overbought, and Boom! everyone was out of work.
We have 5 million officially unemployed people walking around, closer to 13 million in reality. Our manufacturing sector has been off-shored. Let me ask you: would you rather work for autocratic communist apparatchiks or autocratic corporate apparatchiks?
Or would you rather work for a private enterprise in an economy that is governed by representatives of working people and motivated to address the needs of working people?
Read Thomas Paine: Common Sense; The Rights of Man; The Age of Reason. This is our democratic heritage, and the American aristocracy, as well as keeping him well hid, hates him more than they hate FDR.
