Fact check: The terrorist attacks in Madrid and London were planned by home-grown malcontents, not in Afghanistan. And has been pointed out in print in many places, the 9/11 attacks were planned in Hamburg, Germany and the United States.

Using the military in Afghanistan is good for mercenaries and other war profiteers, but it doesn't even address the worry that supposedly justifies it: the planning of terrorist attacks against American and European targets.
