Editor,
I thought there were laws against incitement and laws against threatening public officials. I know that if a person threatens to harm the president, they receive a visit from the Secret Service (and that the Secret Service dutifully follows up on thousands of threats every year).
So if someone, say a Republican legislator, incites a mob to throw a brick through another Congress member's window, isn't that an actionable offense that a District Attorney somewhere should be investigating?
The Republicans seem to be deliberately putting in motion a totalitarian movement, grounded in violence and race hatred, and they seem to be egging the people they are able to influence into trying to start a civil war.
All this so the richest people in the history of the world do not have to pay taxes and so that giant corporations can kill or destroy whomever or whatever they wish with impunity. If the tea baggers knew to what end they are being manipulated, I am sure they would feel very embarrassed.
