Voices of reason like Prof. Krugman's have been drowned out by moronic braying from the lunatic right for years, and the cacophony is getting not only louder, but also stupider.

This country is hell-bent on destroying itself and bringing as much of the rest of the world down with itself as possible. We are witnessing the force of history, like Tolstoy's Prince Andrew on the battlefield during the Napoleonic Wars.
