Editor,
Leaving aside whether American military involvement in Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Pakistan is justified or not on national security grounds, am I the only person to whom it has occurred that there are an awful lot of people in those countries who have been brutalized by American troops and interrogators or who have lost innocent loved ones -- particularly children -- to errant American weaponry?
My guess is that there are a lot of people out there, with legitimate grievances or not, who would like to blow our country off the map. Sometimes I wish I had the money or the marketable skills to move to another, safer country -- if there is one -- before America's wars come home to "the homeland" (which we used to call "our country" when I was a kid).
