Money this and Obama that.

There is only so much President Obama can do. The American political process has become so corrupt over the last 30 years that all the king's horses and all the kings men may never be able to put it back together again. And if they can, it is going to take some time.

If the American public were only able to see how they are being duped by giant corporations, then perhaps the chances of voting out every political hack who is on the take and replacing them with people eager to serve the public interest would improve.

But the story is framed in the same old tired political terms. The destruction of the planet on which our lives depend is invisible to big money, never really mentioned. We wage pointless, horrible wars and pollute every corner of our country rather than to look hard at the way we live our lives. And big money makes sure a critical mass of us never do take that look.

So it's money this and Obama that, jobs this and taxes that. Our country is dying, and big money just wants to pull the wool over everybody's eyes and keep on making money.
