Everyone in this country (with the exception of the zombies brainwashed by Fox TV and shock-jock radio), even the corporations' paid Republican politician shills, knows that, thanks to the idiotic ideology of no-government unregulation, our country has been taken over by a form of corporate feudalism in which American citizens have been reduced to prey and the United States has become an economic and environmental killing field for the super rich.

Is it possible that President Obama does not know this?

The millions who voted for him thought he wanted to be president so he could fight for all us little guys against the free-market mumbo-jumbo that amounts to death, destruction, and poverty for all but a few percent of the American population.

What does Mr. Obama think he is doing?

Is he really an out-of-touch academic, finally, who doesn't comprehend that real life is going on all around him and that he is part of it? Does this catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico really come down to who is going to pay how many dollars for doing it?

The Gulf of Mexico is being killed in front of everybody's eyes. Undersea plumes may very well kill the Atlantic Ocean, too. The lesson is that rule by corporations, "self-regulation" -- now there is a load of crap for you -- and no-government results, inevitably, in cataclysms such as this.

Mr. Obama, your job, in case you haven't noticed, is to lead the charge to take the United States back from the corporations.
