Republican Kool-Aid.

Editor,

When President Obama caved in to Republican demands to extend Bush tax cuts for the richest 2% of Americans in exchange for a 13-month bone for the long-term unemployed, he had the nerve to declare that this $700 billion budget-busting giveaway would "stimulate" our economy.

Our president has drunk the Republican Kool-Aid, folks, and now he is going to go after Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security under the specious rubric that these programs are "entitlements," when in fact they are insurance programs workers contribute to with payroll taxes.

End the imperial wars. Cut military spending by at least $200 billion. Tax rich people proportionately to their ability to pay. Why is this so hard for so-called conservatives to understand?
