Ignore them.

Editor,

I proved to myself the other day that with links to convincing information in hand, a conservative voter can be convinced to rethink his position on an important economic issue.

In this case I had the opportunity to educate about CDO's and CDS's a smart but conservative voter who thinks in categories that begin and end with free markets and government interference.

There is hope. Ignore the right-wing lunatics. They are vastly outnumbered by reasonable people. Don't be afraid to talk to moderate conservatives. Find progressive candidates to run for local and state offices and for Congress. Do the grunt work necessary to get them elected.

One Obama at the top is the wrong approach. Of course he sold us out. But that is no reason not try what will work. Don't run any candidate who cares what the extreme right thinks. They are a fringe. Ignore them.
