Speaking of the police in Peru, we are having a serious problem with the police -- and who they are taking their orders from -- in New York City, Boston, Chicago, and possibly a few other cities in this country.

We need to negotiate with these thugs to find out what their orders are, who is giving them, and to explain that their legitimate function in society is to protect the public from violence and crime.

A light needs to be shone brightly on whoever is turning these goons out to brutalize and intimidate protesters in classic fascist fashion.

And as for demands, demands are a trap that legitimates the hold on power factions have that are holding it. The goal is to take that power away from them, and this outcome is becoming more inevitable every day with or without the cooperation of the police.

For the police I see it as choice: Back off now or be prosecuted later.
