Superstition.

Editor,

Catholic church "merges" with secular hospital.

1.) Why does the church get to impose its superstition-based prejudices on the medical policies of the hospital? Who do "the Church" think they are? We're not talking Galileo here, whom "the Church" forced to recant his theory that the Earth revolves around the sun.

2.) Since when do churches get to "merge" with hospitals? Churches minister to the superstitions of their followers. Hospitals attend to their patients' medical needs. Merging is a business practice. Since when are religions businesses?

This veil of non-profitism that religious organizations manipulate to their own advantage needs to be scrutinized carefully, assuming our government is still not so corrupt it is incapable of challenging rackets like "the Church."
