Shadow government.

Editor,

We have a serious problem with money in politics in this country -- a shadow government that works full-time to advance the agenda of big corporations, rich people, and other special interest groups with enough money to get in the doors of local, state, and Washington, DC politicians.

We plebeians elect a government that we naively believe represents us, but it answers instead to this shadow government that sets the agenda and even writes the legislation that our representatives enact.

This is not democracy. And if you have a mind to go out into the street and demand that government listen to the will of the public, you had better be ready to be beaten up, gassed, jailed, and strip searched by fascist thugs in riot gear hired to serve the interests of the shadow government.

Now I know what it feels like to live in a client state of the USA, now that the USA is a client state of the multinational corporations and the rich.
