Sleep.

Editor,

Allow me to recommend a book: "Idiot America" by Charles P. Pierce.

The book explores the three pillars of Idiot America:

1. Any theory is valid if it moves units (garners ratings, makes money).
2. Anything can be true if it is said loudly enough.
3. Fact is what enough people believe (the Truth is what you believe).

This is the cognitive landscape -- the appalling ignorance of the American public -- that Republicans have to work with.

Losing every demographic except angry white males in the last election could turn out to be merely a bump in the road for our plutocratic, autocratic, oligarchic "friends" because the moronic social substrate Pierce calls "Idiot America" did not go away when Romney lost the presidency.

If the Republicans can't deliver victory, then big money will find another vehicle to wage class war on the USA. Or they will develop a propaganda makeover for Republican talking points, and their discipline and lock-step execution will cram whatever their revised pack of lies will be down Idiot America's throat until they find a formula that works.

Class war in America is nowhere close to being over. Not by a long shot.

The New Left went to sleep (and went to work for the corporations) in the early 1970's after having won the war to end the War in Vietnam. Pox News and Lush Limbaugh are the result.

Don't go to sleep.

The people and the corporations who want to enslave you are wide awake.
