Liable to explode.

Editor,

Criminal liability for a gun used in a crime makes more sense to me than financial liability.

Blood money insurance would just be another profit center for insurance companies; and 100 bucks a year isn't much for a gun owner to pay for ruining people's lives.

The ultimate liability lies with manufacturers and sellers anyway. Consumers hyped on frenzied gun marketing are beyond rationality and don't know what to think, a population of madmen, powder kegs liable at any moment to explode.
