Certain death.

I happened to hear some testimony recorded at a recent hearing in Sacramento about a proposed assault weapons ban.

The assumption expressed at that hearing that the world is crawling with monsters intent on invading people's homes and bodies is truly stunning.

I attribute this to unrelenting fear mongering by right-wing media.

Americans who imbue themselves with that stuff are looking over their shoulders constantly, terrified of their fellow man, and convinced that only Rambo-style weaponry stands between themselves and certain death.
