Editor,
I am thinking about Gov. Rick Perry of Texas's remarks about the cruel anti-abortion bills he signed into law this month, that preventing abortion ensures that future contributors of great importance to society will not otherwise be kept from their lofty destinies.
But when it comes to the children of the working poor, whose parents toil far more laboriously than the entitled rich and suffer interminable anxiety and stress over the future of their families, Republicans toss these future contributors of great importance to society on the uncertain mercy of churches and philanthropic individuals willing to donate a few dollars to charity.
Meanwhile, nuclear weapons, drones, fighter jets, aircraft carriers, surveillance networks, wars in far-flung corners of the globe purported to prevent imaginary catastrophes proliferate to the tune of billions if not trillions of dollars annually.
Right wing ideology is an ideology of world domination, torture, murder, heartless, unempathetic greed, and willful ignorance of what it means to be a human being.
