Who?

Editor,

There is a pattern here.

"The economy" amounts, from the perspective of the Federal Reserve, the U.S. Treasury, and Lawrence Summers -- President Obama's probable nomination to replace Ben Bernanke -- to Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, other Wall Street banks, and multinational corporations.

The American public pay the freight for government policies to enrich the masters of the universe, and despite sweet talk from the president when the unwashed seem a bit more agitated than usual, nothing is done to help the American people.

So who do you think these elaborate, secret spy networks are designed to protect?

Hundreds of millions of dollars and tens of thousands of "analysts" into these programs, we find out -- from someone immediately branded a traitor -- that, now that Americans' jobs, homes, and life savings have been stolen to shore up the "economy," Americans' social networks are being mapped to keep "the country" safe.

We all know who the "economy" is.

Who is the "country?"
