Editor,
I have 3 issues with today's hearing:
1. American drones kill children.
2. International norms prohibit torture.
3. There are more than just the two alternatives offered, bomb or walk away.
Stop drone strikes in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, and elsewhere.
Prosecute Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Cambone, Yoo, Bybee, Sanchez, Miller, and others who implemented the United States' torture apparatus.
Initiate talks among Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and others whose proxies are fighting to advance their interests in Syria, and include Russia as an honest broker to forge a political solution to the Syrian conflict.
Do these things, and I might begin to feel that what the U.S. professes its own aims are is credible.
