Republican Shutdown

Editor,

The people who voted for Tea Party candidates are at fault, as are the billionaires and corporations who pay for their campaigns.

California was hamstrung by a small, intransigent minority of Republicans, just enough to stymie any constructive fiscal activity by the government, for decades. The Republicans by some miracle were finally voted out, and California is starting to get back on its feet.

The problem is in the electoral process: right-wing financial support for ignorant crazy people and right-wing propaganda masquerading as news.

These problems can be solved.

Citizen's United and entrenched seats in Congress are big hurdles, but they can be overcome.
