What is wrong with you, USA?
You are going to bomb Syria to "send a message" to Iran.
Israel fears that if you don't bomb Syria, Iran is going to bomb them.
And you refuse to talk to Iran?
This, pardon me, is an idiotic position because it is entirely illogical.
The best way to "send a message" to Iran is to TALK TO THEM!
Iran has made overtures on several occasions, the most recent since this crisis began, to talk to the U.S., and the U.S. refuses to talk to them every single time.
I do not see how it is possible for me to get any more tired of the U.S. blaming the targets of its imperial aims for its aggressive behavior.
And while we are talking about who should be included in talks, the real problem here -- leaving aside the valid domestic dissatisfaction within Syria of Syrian citizens with Assad -- also includes Saudi Arabia.
Goosing the Syrian civil war makes Syria a proxy for war by Saudi Arabia on Iran. Does it not make sense for Russia to broker talks between Saudi Arabia and Iran as well as talks between the USA and Iran?
No one who needs to talk to each other is talking.
All Iran's enemies want to do is shoot.
Iran wants to talk.
Talk!
Syria from the international perspective is a pretext. Get the international players out of Syria, and the domestic issue can be resolved. Assad can go quietly. No one has to kill him or his tribe. This can all be settled amicably.
