Republicans' mission, across every legislative issue, is to devise a scheme that facilitates plunder by big corporations and the very rich and that working Americans can be tricked into supporting with lies, half-truths, emotional manipulation, and logic that makes no sense.

Democrats are a little better in that some pay lip service to progressive values, but they do not dare to bite the hand that feeds them, so Democrats today usually accomplish little more than limit the damage Republicans do.
