Editor,
I read the NY Times every day, but if a friend of mine hadn't called me from England last night, I still would not know that the UK has been pummeled by torrential rains and gale force winds, the worst storms there in 300 years, for the last 4 weeks and no letup is anticipated before the end of February.
Drought here, floods there. Hotter than ever, colder than ever.
And still petcoke and coal, oil and gas are being produced and burned with a passion.
Mr. Obama promised the oceans would recede under his administration. But England is being pounded by 75-foot waves and the president is waiting for just the right moment to get away with approving the Keystone XL pipeline.
