Dots.

Editor,

Teasing apart all of the components of the crisis in policing in the USA is more complex than Ferguson, MO.

From sea to shining sea "force" is the pillar that rule by rigged markets rests upon.

Yes, obviously, racism is the giant pustulating horror that pervades the fabric of America's terrible past and ugly present. Ninety-nine of a hundred victims of sadistic, dehumanizing, wanton police brutality are people of color.

Too-smart-for-their-britches racists with their very own channels in broadcast media fan indifference and contempt and save this monstrosity's place in polite society's bag of oh-so-rational excuses.

But there is much, much more.

Connect the dots. Homeless people are shot down, too. Dissenters are cracked over the head by eager white-shirted mobsters in New York City; shot at with tear gas canisters in Oakland, California; casually pepper-sprayed on college campuses.

Force.

Force, force, force.

Domestically and abroad. Enforcing the neoliberal project to steal every possible nickel from every possible worker, steal savings and homes with fine-print mumbo jumbo, impoverish whole nations, privatize the bases for a decent life for hundreds of millions of people.

Connect the dots: Destroy foreign lands with force abroad. Destroy neighborhoods and kill people minding their own business with force at home.

It's not just Michael Brown -- may that unfortunate lad rest in peace.
