The Republicans did not run on the policies they will send in bills to President Obama. They ran on Ebola, ISIS, and blaming Mr. Obama for the effects of their own actions on the American economy.

Now that they have both houses of Congress, they will attack immigrants, attack low-wage workers, attack public education, accelerate global warming, defund renewable energy initiatives, privatize Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, empower fossil fuel extractors, and deregulate Wall Street. (Add your observations to this list.)

In short, they have cleverly manipulated politics by playing on the public's fears and dissatisfaction with the economy, but their policies will fly 180 degrees in the face of what the vast majority of American citizens want.

The worst thing, the absolute worst thing, they will do is worsen the climate crisis. They will prevent placing a price on carbon, block EPA regulation of emissions, and subsidize burning oil and coal. They are literally a threat to the survival of life as we know it on this planet. This is a disaster of monumental proportions.
