To the teeth.

A good way for American leaders to keep American leaders safe is not to have overthrown and/or murdered democratically elected leaders like Mossadegh, Arbenz, Lamumba, Allende, etc., etc., etc., and not to have launched wars of aggression against countries like Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, and others.

Trying to dominate the world militarily and installing and supporting brutal dictators in every corner of the world is how you make people hate you. Similarly to how Israel justifies every atrocity it commits by invoking the horrifying depravity of a Holocaust that occurred 70 years ago, the USA imagines itself and assumes everyone will believe it still is the good guy that it was in the fight against fascism during WWII.

Times change. You can only kill so many million people on false pretenses; you can only destroy so many million lives to make the world safe for American corporations.

There is not one problem on this planet, not even ISIS, that can be solved militarily, and yet it is always the military solution American leaders seek when its domination of resources, markets, or politics is opposed.

Friendship, sharing, cooperation, and respect are the way to peace. And peace is the way to "make Americans safe." Killing, bombing, and destroying by the USA are precisely the reason the USA is not safe, just like all those rank-and-file Americans terrified of people they do not know and are therefore bristling with weapons to the teeth.
