The real problem with John Bolton is not that he is an ideological bulldog or that his inevitable belligerent outbursts at the UN will necessitate thicker walls and higher barbed wire at US embassies around the world.

It is that George Bush is using this pugnacious sap to hide from the American people that the most egregious micreants in the oil-for-food scandal were Halliburton and other US corporations -- with the full knowledge and complicity of Bush & Co.
