That William J. Bennett's role in Ronald Reagan's administration was Secretary of Education is the cruelest cut of all, because his horrid remarks belie his dismissal of the deprivation black kids experience as a result of whites' hoarding educational resources and the dire, life-long consequences of this inhumane treatment by the white power structure generally and himself in particular.
