Bush requests torture legislation?

Editor,

George Bush, grandstanding, is asking that Congress draft a law banning torture. Does he take the American people for idiots? This is on a par with his claiming to have been "shocked" by the treatment of prisoners at Abu Ghraib, for which he, Donald Rumsfeld, Richard B. Myers, Stephen A. Cambone, Geoffrey D. Miller, George Casey, and others, on the advice of John Yoo, Alberto Gonzales, and Jay Bybee were directly responsible. The man is a war criminal. Are we supposed to wait for him to agree that he is before he and his henchmen are brought to justice in the Hague?
