Editor,
I watched George Bush's Sept. 15 press conference in its entirety today at the WhiteHouse.gov website. I held my nose and did it as an exercise to see if I could pick up on any of the signals Justin A. Frank, M.D., outlined in his book, "Bush on the Couch," which I read over the weekend. Actually, it was not necessary at all to have read Dr. Frank's book.
George Bush is scared of his own shadow, like a kid alone in a dark house imagining bogie-men going to jump out of the closets to get him. So he has to lock innocent people up, torture them, start wars, lie, refuse to negotiate with his enemies -- all to make himself feel safe. As Shakespeare observed, a brave man dies one time, and a coward dies again and again in his fretful imaginings. No one should listen to this guy. He is chicken through and through.
