Why the Republicans lost.

The Republicans lost because the truth got out. And the truth got out because the Internet is still a vehicle in the United States for dissemination of on-the-ground reportage, accurate contemporary history, and economic analysis grounded in values other than giant corporations' bottom line. American fascism will regain power and ultimately triumph after the Internet as a conduit for opposition speech has been slammed shut. To regain control the wealthiest 1% must and will transform the Internet into a source of lies and corporate propaganda as they have television and the mainstream press. Then the power that derives from the free flow of information will once and for all be ripped from ordinary Americans' hands. Now is not the time to go to sleep.
