Being charitable.

Editor,

The fastest growing segment of the American homeless population is working families with children, and the principle cause of homelessness is the disappearance of affordable housing.

(The National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty estimates that 3.5 million people, 1.35 million of them children, are likely to experience homelessness in a given year.)

Why are homeless people at the mercy of charities, while half a trillion dollars are being poured down an imperialist rat hole in Iraq?
