Generals, scientists, teachers.

Editor,

Generals study their bloody craft in war colleges and gain experience in combat. Scientists pour over painstakingly verified experimental data to unravel abstruse theories. Teachers study educational theory and acquire knowledge through trial and error in the classroom about how kids learn. Then along comes George W. Bush, a know-nothing nobody, dictating ignorant and idiotic policies to the collective horror of educated specialists.
