Lawrence E. Harrison's op-ed in your 12/17/06 issue is truly a bunch of crap. American capitalists could not care less about anybody but themselves or anything but their own money. This highfalutin claptrap about improving other people's lives is a propaganda smoke screen behind which the American ruling class does what is does best: plunder. Mr. Harrison needs to read a book.
