The real problem with Saddam Hussein's trial is that by narrowly focusing on his Dujail massacre, no airing whatsoever was given to U.S. enabling of and complicity in his larger crimes -- aggressive war against Iran, invasion of Kuwait, gassing of Iraqi Kurds. This is why George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, and others hustled him to the gallows: to silence forever testimony regarding their own and George H. W. Bush's crimes against humanity.
