Balance.

Editor,

A recent NYT editorial excoriated Texas for "balancing" teaching evolution in public schools with teaching religious mumbo jumbo, because teaching what is right is not "balanced" when adulterated with teaching what is wrong. It is corrupted.

But on the very same page, in an editorial applauding the U.S. Supreme Court for finding in favor of workers discriminated against by a corporation, the NYT urged the Court to "balance" defending the human rights of workers in some cases with licensing corporations to crush them in others. There are no times and there are no cases when what is wrong "balances" what is right.
