I don't understand why the NYT is able to articulate such reasonable and human perspectives with respect to labor in the domestic U.S. economy, yet every 6 weeks or so you run an editorial urging that the Colombia free trade agreement be urgently passed -- such that Colombian workers can be mercilessly brutalized by American corporations in yet another set of Free Trade Zones in yet another country where union organizers are intimidated into silence, in this case by being killed.
