Enough with the coddling.

Editor,

I am an American, and I am not uncomfortable with the word "nationalization."

Words I am uncomfortable with include oligarchy, plutocracy, aristocracy . . . not to mention dishonesty, obfuscation, theft, influence peddling, and others that express the general idea of a rich and powerful elite sucking money out of the pockets of hard-working people, especially hard-working people who are paid a pittance and are therefore poor.

Since day one of this crisis I have been arguing that we the taxpayers should subsidize mortgagees who cannot make their payments and only mortgagees who cannot make their payments. This will keep homeowners in their homes and make bad mortgages good. Any and all losses that high-rolling gamblers incurred beyond that are, properly, their own problem, their own loss.

As for the banks, these should all be nationalized, and each and every bank officer and/or board member who had a hand in this appalling lack of due diligence should be fired and their assets seized.

Enough with the coddling of stupid, arrogant rich people. We do not need a parasitic class in this country. We need more janitors and taxicab drivers, and I know where to find some.
