Global warming.

Republicans perceive "Al Gore" and "global warming alarmists" as conspiring to impose REGULATION and TAXES on "business." In defense of their business model, despite all science to the contrary, it is essential therefore that Republicans hold as self-evident that industrial man can rape and rape and rape the planet Earth without consequence.

So Republicans trivialize, misrepresent, mock, and undermine every insight climate science yields -- as if to sway a large enough number of poll responders will make true that the way Republicans do business (rape and rape and rape the planet Earth) has not resulted in global warming.

Republicans can address with heavily armed police, armies, wars, dictators, disappearances, and torture popular discontent with the inequitable distribution of wealth in which their business model results. But the Earth cannot be beaten into silence, so it is necessary for Republicans to misrepresent what our planet is saying to prevent REGULATION and TAXES from being imposed on "business".
